Making for a Better Kells The official release of the Prosper Meath led Walkability study of Kells in association with Meath County Council, Age Friendly Alliance, Eureka Secondary School, Kells Local Heroes and Laterlife Network. The event was also supported by Minister of State for European Affairs, Helen McEntee and local Councillors for the Kells area, Sarah Reilly and Sean Drew. The function of the study was to identify how Kells could become a more accessible town for all community members. Easy access to all areas of Kells for the elderly, the youth, parents with buggies and also for people with disabilities. Meath County Council have confirmed work is in planning for many of the areas identified in the study and at Prosper Meath, we look forward to continuing our strong working relationship with Meath County Council and all the agencies that supported this initiative in ensuring progress is made. ‘Making a Difference Award’ - St Patricks Classical School, Navan Prosper Meath Beechmount were delighted to visit St Patrick’s Classical School, Navan on 21st March.  As part of a local accessibility initiative, Joey Dowdall delivered a presentation on Wheelchair Accessibility issues to TY students to support their Prosper Meath ‘Making a Difference Award’ 2019 project.  The award will be presented in recognition of the student(s) who have made a significant impact on the life/lives of others through the promotion of social inclusion.   Many thanks to Mr O’Rourke, Mr Moore, Mr Cregg and the students for their welcome and hospitality. Sports Partnership

Ashbourne Sports Partnership The 14th of March marked the beginning of a collaboration between Prosper Meath service users and TY students of Colaiste De Lacy Ashbourne. This initiative in collaboration with Meath Local Sports Partnership has been hugely successful in other Prosper Meath services and secondary schools in the county. This is the first time that this programme has been rolled out in the Ashbourne service. The transition year students will facilitate a number of sports based activities, over the next 6 weeks, for the Prosper Meath service users in Donaghmore Ashbourne GAA club.Gemma McMahon from Prosper Ashbourne met with the transition year group to give them a background on the services that Prosper Meath provides. Emma’s Radio Show Emma Brady co-hosted the Breakfast Show with Seamus Farrelly and Chris Murray on LMFM radio on Thursday, 21st March.  Emma is the lead actor in the latest Prosper Meath video “If the shoe was on the other foot”.   Emma chatted with her co-hosts and played songs from her chosen playlist. All in all, a great debut as a radio presenter to add to her successful acting role.  The video was launched on Thursday, 21st March which was World Down Syndrome Day and  is beginning to go viral on social media.
